Pitching By Geertsen Shuts Out St. Helens, Rex Putnam Kingsmen Takes The Win.
Nick Geertsen shut down St. Helens, throwing a complete game shutout and leading the Rex Putnam Kingsmen to a 8-0 victory on Tuesday. The Kingsmen secured the victory thanks to eight runs in the first inning. The big inning was thanks to walks by John Foglio, Vinny Salvione, Ozzy MacKenzie, and Jayden Junta, singles by Tanner Drog and Sam Sholty.
Rex Putnam got things moving early when Drog singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run.
The big inning was all Geertsen would need as he earned his 4th win for the Kingsmen. He went seven innings, allowing zero runs on three hits, striking out seven and walking zero.
K.J. Ruffo went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Rex Putnam Kingsmen in hits. The Kingsmen were sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error in the field to help back up Geertsen.
